ATRAMÉ

Atramé is a curated platform and an artistic project by Milan Sodoma, initially focused on art prints — works created and carefully selected from his own body of work. It is a space rooted in his deep aesthetic sensitivity, a personal vision of beauty, and a desire to nurture women’s natural feminine energy — softness, strength, intuition.

The name Atramé is derived from the Latin word atramentum — the term for ink. It is a direct reference to the medium that, over the years, has become Milan’s essential tool of expression. The root atra also means black — a color that runs through his entire work as a vital visual and symbolic element.

In traditional Chinese philosophy, black represents the yin principle — the feminine, calm, and inward force of reality. It symbolizes silence, depth, water, night, and the potential of birth.

It is associated with introspection, protection, and acceptance — it absorbs, but does not attack. It is not dark in a negative sense, but rather a fertile ground for transformation, maturity, and return to essence.

Currently, Atramé focuses on art prints and occasionally on original artworks — primarily pieces inspired by femininity, designed to resonate with women seeking inner balance, calm, confidence, and connection to their natural essence.

These are images that do not speak loudly, yet leave a lasting impression. In the future, the platform will open up to other artists with a shared vision, and perhaps even new forms of expression.

Milan Sodoma

Atramé was born from an inner need to give Milan Sodoma’s creative practice more than one direction.

Alongside his large-scale, concept-driven paintings, there is a quieter, lighter stream of work — intuitive, joyful, and rooted in aesthetics, design, and spatial harmony. Atramé is the space for this expression: works created without conceptual weight, conceived as design objects that live in interiors, celebrating femininity, softness, and timeless visual balance.

Milan Sodoma is a contemporary Czech visual artist based in Prague. His work combines minimalist aesthetics with intuitive gesture, using black ink as a central visual and symbolic element. Working primarily on large cotton canvases, often without preliminary sketches, his paintings emerge in a single, uninterrupted flow, balancing formal reduction with spiritual depth.

Founded as an independent creative platform, Atramé presents curated art prints and small original works on paper. It allows Milan to separate his more design-oriented, aesthetic practice — closely related to architecture and interior space — from his gallery work, and to share a lighter, more accessible side of his visual language with a broader audience.
