Atramé is a curated platform and personal project by artist Milan Sodoma, initially focused on art prints — works created or carefully selected from his own body of work. It is a space born from his deep aesthetic sensitivity, a personal vision of beauty, and a desire to nurture natural feminine energy in women — softness, strength, intuition.
The name Atramé derives from the Latin word atramentum — meaning ink or black pigment. It is a direct reference to the medium that, over the years, has become an essential tool of Milan’s expression. The root Atra translates as “black” — a color that runs through his work as both a visual constant and a symbolic core.
In traditional Chinese philosophy, black is associated with the yin principle — the feminine, calm, and inward-facing polarity of reality. It represents silence, depth, water, night, and the potential of new beginnings.
It is tied to introspection, protection, and receptivity — it absorbs, but does not attack. Not darkness in a negative sense, but rather a fertile ground for transformation, maturation, and return to essence.
“Atramé was born from my inner need to give my creative energy multiple directions. I’ve always felt that I cannot express myself through just one language.
There are days when I turn inward — reflecting on the world, society, and its structure — and I enter spiritual or even metaphysical realms. These states need expression, and for me, painting is the way. This is how large-format canvases are created — the ones I am currently working on and will soon present on milansodoma.com.
Then there are days of lightness. Days when I want to create with joy, intuitively, without the weight of conceptual depth. Days when I want to celebrate femininity — to create objects that elevate the spaces they inhabit, that bring softness, strength, and a quiet reminder of how vital feminine energy is — and how remarkable women truly are.
Atramé is the space for this kind of work. For things that are born from joy, lightness, and the desire to share.”
— Milan Sodoma
At present, Atramé focuses on fine art prints — especially works inspired by femininity, aimed at women seeking inner balance, calm, confidence, and reconnection with their natural essence. These are artworks that do not speak loudly, yet leave a deep impression. In the future, the platform will expand to include other artists who share a similar vision — and possibly new forms of creative expression.
